Cat Aggression Problem?

Do you have a cat with aggression problems and you don't know what's wrong with your cat? It is a very complicated and upsetting problem for any owner to solve, so with that said lets learn how to stop our cat behavioral problems now instead of later......Worry no more about your cat aggression problems, here are some of the most asked questions and I will answer each of them for you...

Why is my Cat Aggressive towards my other cat and me?

This problem can be solved many ways but the most common for this is that your cat may have a medical problem. Cat Aggression problems can be caused by medical problems so first take your cat to you veterinarian, who will perform a physical examination of your cat. Alleviation of medical conditions often resolves the aggressive behavior of your cat. If your cat is fine (healthy that is), determine what kind of aggression your cat is displaying in order to formulate a good strategy, and ultimately, a solution.

How do I stop my kittens from biting and scratching me when we play?

It's normal for your kitten to want to play by scratching and biting so don't be too worried about it. Biting and scratching during play time is typical and is look at as "play aggression, " a behavior most commonly observed in young cats and kittens. When you play with your kitten jus make you play with a distance between your hands and the kitten, so your cat has no opportunity to bite or scratch you.

For examploe:

Toss moving objects like ping-pong balls, walnuts, or aluminum foil balls for your cat to chase them or Provide climbing perches, scratching posts, and ball toys that deliver food when batted about. This will reduce all of the aches and pains guaranteed.

Why does my cat get very agitated whenever someone new comes into my house?

This is a sign of "fear aggression, " a defensive behavior towards unfamiliar people, animals, noises and even new places. Unpleasant experiences, like a trip to the veterinarian's office, may also trigger fear aggression in your cat. With a fear aggressive cat there are two things I recommend you not do.

First, do not console your cat! By trying to calm your cat down with a low tone and petting it does nothing but lets the cat think that you approve of their inappropriate behavior and that is not the case.

Secondly, when visitors come to your home tell them to not retreat or show any fear in front of a fear aggressive cat, because this teaches the cat that her behavior can make unwanted visitors go away. Lack of attention is a better strategy and it will work a lot better.

Why does my cat growls and hisses when I try to move her ff my bed?

This cat is attempting to control the situation through status-induced aggression. Other examples include cats that block doorways, or solicit attention from their owner. The signs of this kind of aggression include tail swishing, flattened ears, dilated pupils, growling, and hissing. You must ignore the cat's demands for play, food and attention, and make sure that any rewards must be given when the cat is relaxed (a relaxed cat holds her tail up, has normal sized pupils, and does not swat). The most effective reaction to status-induced aggression is to just ignore your cat completely.

Why does my dog "freak out" on her leash at random?
On occasion, while walking my larger breed female dog she will positively spazz out, to put it bluntly. I found a similar question on Yahoo! Answers about a dachshund, but my situation is somewhat different. My dog is a year and half, extremely well socialized, and usually mild-mannered and calm. She walks well on a leash with no tugging or pulling, heels when told, and will sit to be introduced to new people. She is not dog aggressive, human aggressive, or cat aggressive, and does not offer to chase small animals. However, sometimes she will begin bucking and thrashing on her leash without warning. She will chew on her leash and/or harness, and cause a major uproar. We've switched fabrics of harnesses and collars, and always make sure they're well adjusted. What could possibly account for this irrational behavior? There is no certain stimuli that is always present, sometimes people around and sometimes we're alone on a trail. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Other info: She is spayed, healthy and checked annually by a vet, and knows basic obedience. Well, is there a way to curb this behavior? She's well exercised and has plenty of play time at home, but this behavior is potentially dangerous I think... If she knocks someone down or headbutts them while she thrashes? Thank you, Rotten Rotts. I've switched her collars and harnesses on numerous occasions to make sure she wasn't acting up out of discomfort. As far as being bitten or stepping on something sharp, I'm not sure, because she's done this in all sorts of places: dirt paths, concrete paths (not hot), feilds, etc... All kinds of different places. I'm at a loss.

my cat aggressive to her sister after birth?
my cat (Gray) gave birth to a cat last week , ever since then i've been isolating her sister (shadow) from her to prevent any harm to the small cat , but a week later when my cat gray came into the kitchen all i heard was a really loud growling , when i came in i found my cat shadow growling at gray and scratching the air conditioner trying to get out , ever since then i haven't been able to put them in the same room without shadow growling and running away from gray , who makes the situation worse by chasing her sister (she really loves her sister so i guess she's shocked and/or not sure why she's displaying this behavor ) , before the birth they really loved each other and are always licking each other and sleeping right next to the other but since the birth it's been hell for me trying to keep them apart , my cat shadow did NOT attack gray , she just runs away and tries to scare gray away, she only makes really loud growling (the first time she did it my neighbors knocked at my door to see if im fine, just to give you an idea of how loud it was), please help me cause i can't separate them for too long and it's been a pain to be running back and forth with the two trying to break up the fight. and they are street cats who i can't bath just FYI.

Why is my male cat aggressive towards his sister?
I have two cats who will be 3 years old in May. They are brother and sister who came from the same litter. I have had them both since they were about 8 weeks old. Within the past 8-9 months, the male cat has started to become violent towards his sister. I know cats play with each other, but sometimes he will chess her around and bite him or the neck, shoulders, etc. When the male does this the female will sometimes howl or meow like she is in pain. Within the past 4-5 months I have noticed small wounds on the female. Should I be worried because the male is actually hurting her so much there are marks?

New cat who is aggressive to other cats?
Okay, I've done this before but it's been awhile. I adopted a beautiful oriental short hair (5 yrs). He was tagged cat aggressive but I think he still has potential. I am keeping him in his own room and purchased a crate to acclimate him into a house with 3 other adult cats. I know, I'm crazy. Any really good tips out there you can share? If not can you spare a few prayers? Okay, first of all thank you all for your answers! Cat people are the best, I don't care what anybody says! But I want to say this cat (so far I'm leaning to and he's responding best to Vincent) is pretty awesome. He is EXTREMLY affectionate to me. Total baby. He even fetches like a dog (which I'm not sure is a compliment to cat really LOL). Tonight, day 3 I put in in a full wire crate for a few hours and he did hiss and howl but eventually calmed down. My other cats were surprisingly calm and curious (versus aggressive back). And one thing to Martini girl who adopted a 12 year old Siamese (I have two)... just WOW. I love to hear the oldies get a second chance. You are super. I misspoke, I said Marini "girl" but you are in fact a "Queen" to have adopted an oldie but goody. Jeez, spell check much? Sorry folks!
