The Reasons Why a Cat Would Bite a Human

In general, cats bite people for one or two reasons. First of all, you may have been playing too rough with your frisky feline, which causes your cat to respond with a bite. Additionally, cats may bite is if they are upset about something you have done or just upset in general. Cats are creatures that like their own space and they may act out by giving someone in their area a slight nip or worse.

Treatment of Cat Bites

You could treat cat bites by washing the cut with soap, applying antiseptic cream and pasting a plaster over the wound. This will ensure that the wound is clean and free from bacteria.

What is the Cat Scratch Disease?

A bite or scratch from a cat may lead to a more serious medical condition known as the cat scratch disease. The cat scratch disease is a bacterial infection caused by a cat's bite or scratch. It can also be caused when a cat licks an open wound. Cats get the bacteria from fleas, and transmit it to humans via their saliva Cat scratch disease in cats does not harm the cat itself but provides complications for the person bitten, scratched, or licked.

The main symptom of cat scratch disease is the swelling of the lymph nodes. Other symptoms may include loss of appetite, fatigue, sore throat, headache or fever.

Treatment of Cat Scratch Disease

Most incidents of cat scratch disease will heal on their own. Over-the-counter medicine like acetaminophen or Advil could help alleviate the pain in the lymph nodes. It is a good idea to see a doctor to confirm diagnosis and seek treatment if you are unsure unsure what to do some of the more serious cases of cat scratch disease may require prescription antibiotics to heal.

Prevention of Cat Scratch Disease

The best way to avoid getting cat scratch disease is by the prevention of cat bites and scratches. You should back off whenever a cat shows any of the following warning signs like meowing in an angry tone, moving their ears backwards, harmlessly swiping you or hissing. Why is my cat biting me?
I have a cat (and I've asked this before but I never got quite a good answer) that is almost 4 years old, we got her from my biological fathers neighbour, she was from a litter that was born in his shed, they often have many kitten every year due to this, even though they spay an neuter those they catch. I know she was taken too young as a kitten, old enough she was physically fine, but young enough to still "nurse" on things. My mom said she had to be declawed on all paws, and she is, but we never had her fixed as she is a house cat and there's next to 0 chance I'd let her get out. She is te sweetest thing, if I'm upset for any reason she never bites me, even if I could be petting her too rough or annoying her. But 50/50 petting her dissolves into her lightly "play biting" at my arm (which still hurts) but on not-so-rare occasions she will wrap her front paws around me and literally dig in to my arm, and she's so fast from springing at me, grabbing it, and biting that she can already get in a solid bite or two before she either gets off herself or I shake her off. I wouldn't mind her biting if it was just play bites, but the actual bite bites are leaving multiple scars on my arm from her digging her teeth into my skin, ranging anywhere from 1cm to 4cm in length. I'm also concerned that if she bites someone else like this is she could be marked dangerous, ice never heard of it being done with cats, only dogs, but I don't think it's too out if the question. (also I do play with her daily with an assortment of toys, as well as her food/water dishes are always full and clean and litter is scoope at least every two days, and the litter itself changed every week. I'm a high school student so from 6am-3pmish I'm not home weekdays but I assumed with her toys and things she should be fine?) Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any answers!

I have experienced strange unexplained things?
I had gone to the bathroom and came back to find my toys all mixed up. I've had things that are possibly dreams come true. I had a dream about my cat biting my bird's head off and it almost happened. While writing this , my computer went berserk and something happened that never has before... like it does not want me to share this. It was early in the morning, around 5:52 a.m. I could see shadows I leapt out of bed and ran away. From there on, I had a horrible day. I have had visits on about five separate occasions from different visitors in my life. More recently, I had a dream that I broke a glass, On waking, I'm loading the dishwasher and I hear, "ping." The dream comes right back to me. I lift out the glass in two pieces. I am really perplexed. I had a disturbing experience. I have experienced a strange phenomenon about 30 times I dreamt of a classroom I had never seen with students older than I that I had never seen before either. I heard a huge bang in the other room. We also had a dog who would stand at the top of the living room stairs and bark wildly When I'm driving at night I often see dark shapes that take the form of dogs or cats
