Cat Behavioral Problems: Solve Them Quickly and Easily
It is important to try and solve cat behavioral problems as quickly as possible. This is because the more a certain behavior is repeated, the harder it is to try and break the cycle of bad behavior.
Solving cat behavioral problems is one of the most frustrating and stressful situations you can be in. While at times it seems that you are alone, realize that there is a lot of help available to you from lots of different sources like website, books, and articles.
Most people make the mistake of just wanting the solution and not seeking out the original cause of the behavior problem. This results in people trying a wide range of things that do not work because they are not correctly identifying the issue or they are listening to people who are not cat behavioral experts.
For example, a cat may stop using the litter box for a number of different reasons. Maybe the litter box has been recently moved, the box is not clean enough, or maybe there is a change in the household routine. This and a lot more reasons exist for a cat to stop using the litter box, and they each require a specific and different solution.
This is just one example of how important it is to identify the cause of the problem. Take some time right now to think about any recent changes in the house that might be affecting your cat. Many times the solution is much easier than you think.
To start your analysis of the problem you can break down cat problems into two general categories, litter box issues, and feline aggression issues. These are two broad categories, but almost all problems should fit into these two categories.
For there you can break down the problem even further in the categories, until you think you have arrived at the cause of the problem.
Also, it is important to take your cat for regular vet checkups. If you do have a behavior problem with your cat it is always important to rule out a possible medical cause.
Hyperthyroidism and kidney problems are just two examples of how a medical problem can cause a change in the behavior of a cat. This is why it is important to have a physical exam done on your cat and possibly some blood work.
Another medical cause of behavior problems is urinary tract infections. Cats who have these infections may stop using the litter box all together and may start to urinate on beds and carpets.
Remember, you are not alone in dealing with this stressful situation. There are lots of websites, books, and articles out there that can provide you with the information that you need.
Take the time to try and understand what exactly caused this cat behavioral problem and then only use time tested and proven solutions from cat experts who know what they are talking about. Only by truly taking this time can you then solve the problem more quickly and easily.

Major Cat medical problems....Help!?
I have recently had my cat into the vet several times because of a couple of issues....He is a young cat and has over the past year lost 4 pounds....2 of those pounds he lost in the past 5 months. He has had cronic diarrhea since kittenhood which no one was ever able to figure out. About 2 years ago I changed his diet to a hyperallergenic one (i.e venison, rabbit, and duck). He has done remarkably well on it as far as the diarrhea goes. Due to his weight loss we recently ran bloodwork, urinalysis, maldigestive profile, and have even done an ultrasound. Nothing really showed up except some small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. I started him on antibiotics but they gave him diarrhea. Next we gave him a B12 shot and a shot of Depo Medrol. Ok so now this is where it gets weird...since then he has been acting bizarre. He had diarrhea overnight, he has been very lethargic, and has been constantly licking his lips and has developed a strang facial twitch around his mouth. His pupils are also always dialated. He is just not himself. Oddly enough he also has a weird obsession with water (and that was before the Depo shot). And no it's not diabetes...tested! Kidney failure...NOPE! The hair on his back is also thinning. This cat has so many odd symptoms that make no sense. So as you can see I am concerened....looking for any input I can get. Oh and I should mention that he is a Ragdoll....PUREBRED!!!! So of course that means lots of issues. Thanks for your time and I hope you have some ideas.

Can anyone help with a cat medical problem?
We have an outdoor cat that was hit by a car 2 days ago. The only damage we have been able to detect is to her eye. The eyeball is swollen completely out of her head. The rest of her face doesn't appear to be swollen and she is not limping. Although she wasn't very active immediately following the accident, within a couple of hours she was moving around & her appetite has not been effected at all. These seem to be good indications that there weren't any internal injuries. Although my family loves the cat, we cannot afford a veterinary bill for surgery at this time. My husband has kept her in a small pen that is covered so that she could recover without other animals harming her but I feel that she might be better off free to roam since that is what she's used to. What can we do to help her eye? Does anyone know someplace that would treat her injury affordably? I can't stand the thought of her suffering or possibly getting hurt even worse. Any suggestions would help.
Perhaps I should add a few details, as some of my responses seem to suggest that I am a neglectful pet owner. The injured cat is outside because it does not truly belong to me & my family. It was one of several strays that were dumped in my neighborhood by their true owner. I, along with several other families, choose to feed it & my children play with her quite often. My cat is an indoor cat that has regular vet visits along with my 3 dogs. I am simply trying to help an animal that my family has cared for as I would any animal in this situation.
