If i set up an online business, what are my tax obligations?
I have a full time job and all my tax and NI contributions are sorted out by the company. I am looking into setting up an online website selling cat products as a 2nd job, and I'm wondering what my tax and NI obligations will be? Would I just need to fill in a self assessment form on the earnings I make from the website and do I need to inform my employer that I have set up my own business? I don't foresee that I will make that much money by this venture, certainly not enough to take me above the 22% tax threshold, so I'm not worried about my tax code going up. I have tried looking on the HMRC website but it's not been very helpful so far. Before I ring their helpline I just wanted to see if anyone has been in a similar situation. Would also help if anyone knows what I could claim back as business expenses (web site fees, etc) Many Thanks Kate x

cat flea shampoo question?
i have a cat that is four months old. he is infested with fleas because of the dogs! :( his poor little head is covered in bites and was bleeding yesterday. so I have been gently rubbing his head with Dial antibacterial soap and rinsing it out (he hates me now!). i bought him a thing of Hartz UltraGuard flea drops for cats. In fact, this is the item I got: http://www.hartz.com/Hartz_Products/Cat_Products/Parasite_Protection/Topical_Drops/3270010844_hartz_ultraguard_plus.aspx it said for use on cats 5 lbs and over. my cat was 3.4 pounds when he went to his vet last month. i am not sure if i should use these drops on him, or dilute it before i do, etc. help anyone?!
