Why You Should Get your Cat Spayed

As a pet owner, you should get your cat spayed or neutered, as what many other pet owners do. There is a big difference between a spayed and an un-spayed cat. You should not be the unfortunate owner of an un-spayed cat for you will surely encounter many problems. Recently, regulations would require animals to be spayed before adoption. Here are the reasons: 1. The biggest problem among cats is that they easily multiply. Their population is growing increasingly fast which resulted to unwanted kittens that can no longer be taken cared of. There are just not enough people who can look after them. This is due to the uncontrolled reproduction habits of un-spayed female cats. 2. Unwanted and homeless cats pose a threat to other animals in the environment, especially birds and rodents. When they still grow uncontrolled, this may cause an even more severe damage to the environment. 3. If you do not want your cat to be overly active in mating, you should have her spayed. This will also stop her from getting into unlikely behavior that accompanies heating. 4. For un-spayed male cats, they might be more daring when it comes to mating and they might wander off to look for the right mate. This could be a reason why you might lose your cat. 5. Spayed or neutered cats are more protected from feline diseases such as mammary cancer, pyometra, and prostate cancer which are dangerous diseases. If you have an aging female cat, you should make sure that she will get spayed or else she might have higher chances of bearing a dangerous pregnancy. 6. Spayed cats are tamer towards their owners. If you want to improve your relationship with your cat, you should have her spayed. Moreover, you will also be spared from dealing with your cat's untoward behavior during mating season. 7. Having your cat spayed or neutered only requires little cost. If you are lucky enough, you might even find free services. Your cat will be more relaxed when mating and she will also be in the best of health. So you see, neutering your pet will do her a lot of good.

Gettin my cats spayed + a few kitty questions!?
Just before you say anything, first cat, expect silly questions! Ahhhhhh yes. Time for surgery. Anyways, I do believe they will let us take her home that day? So, will she be like, lethargic? Or tipsy on the anesthetic? Also, we have a small white dog that they hiss and growl at, cheeky kittens. How do I get peace? One, when I scratch in her neck she purrs? Or growls I can't tell really. How many meals should a kitten have + free feed of kibble? I changed their food immediately ( sorry, our fault ) but they haven't had any issues, are they okay? And would you wash a cats paws if they are yellow ( pee yellow ) So, lemme sort : How will a kitten act right after a spay? How to make peace between dog and cats? How to differenciate growl and purr? How many meals should a pair of 4 month kittens eat + a free feeding + treats? Would you wash a cat with pee on their paws? I appreciate your time! Thank you Jeanette!

Pros and cons of spaying/ neutering your cats and kittens? ?
Okay I want to start off saying I would appreiate no lectures on the fact that I didn't get my mother cat spayed before she had kittens. I know and I've heard it. Anyways, she had 7 kittens. I am all for getting them fixed as well as all their shots etc before rehoming. On the other hand my boyfriend doesn't want this. He doesn't believe in getting the spaying an neutering procedure done. He is a hard headed guy and doesn't believe when I tell him what I've been told about the benefits of this. I don't know how to persuade him. I'm worried I'll have to sneak and get them fixed without him knowing. Also I was told about a local shelter that will take the kittens when theyre old enough. They will fix and then rehome. As well as chip them so if they ever find their way back to the pound this place will get them out and rehome again. He still doesn't like this idea because he says they are making money of rehoming them and calling themselves a non profit. He is really getting under my skin but I'm not going to budge. These kittens will be fixed and given to good homes. Was wondering if someone could give me facts in the pros and cons to help explain to him. Also what you thought about this shelter. Thanks!

Should i get my cat spayed?
I understand that a female cat needs to be spayed within its earlier ages and my female cat is 3 years old and normally gets in heat once a month. Lately shes been in heat for 75% of the month and is peeing all over the house on everything except her litter-box. What are my options and what do you recommend me doing to fix this problem. I love this cat, but her peeing everywhere is very much unpleasing.

Is my cat in labor, I really need to help with a newly adopted stray.?
She was a stray that I adopted just 2 days ago from going the the pound. I took her to the vet today and he said everything is fine she should deliver soon. She was under a LOT!!!! of stress. having the 45 min car ride over to my home from hers and then to the vet today. She has warmed up to me and I made her a place in a very large crate fro a dog. Yesterday she ate a little but today she wont eat anything or drink and she just lays in the crate, I left the door open but she does nothing but lay there. I called the vet but they leave early today and I am not going to take he out again, it is just too much stress for her. Last night she was looking around the house and I have another female cat(spayed) and they aren't friends yet. But today she just lays in there not coming out and not even getting up. She hasn't had anything to drink today since last night, I am worried about her I have never been around a pregnant cat and want to make sure she is ok. She does purr when I get close to her crate and she lets me pet her and she is conscious. Just very very lazy acting. I have been reading and the vet did explain to me the birthing process and to let her handle it but I am just nervous because I know she is under so much stress. I will call the vet first thing tomorrow morning unless the kittens come. I tried to call different vets but they are unhelpful and want me to bring her in. I do not feel it is worth stressing her that much more. If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it. She does have her own area and I set up my room for her for right now. I tried my porch but she almost tore out the screen I dont have anywhere else besides the kennel in my room but I think she likes it in there I put towels over the top of it and left a little area in the front to where it is still able to see out. I was trying to give her a somewhat private secluded place to birth her kitten. I have WHITE carpet, and I am trying to prepare for that as well. I do check on her through the window from outside so I try not to disturb her. I am just worried about her. I hope it is just labor but I cant tell. She is breathing faster and seems a little restless but other than just laying there and rolling over she just stays there. I even broke out the tuna and she turned her nose up to it. If i try to move her up or out she just goes limo and curls back up into the crate.

I have had my cat spayed on Saturday and the stitches seem to be healing well?
I had her done on Saturday morning and it is now Wed. She removed her E cone on the sunday and the stitches seem to be healing well. She is not scratching just licking over them when she does her general licking. I went to the Vet yesterday for her 3 day check up and they said it seems to be looking good. I have been in all week with her, but tomorrow night have tickets for a show and will be out for a little while, just wondered if she will be ok on her own and just sleep like she is doing now or try and scratch her stitches(which she hasnt done yet) She is used to me going to work and leaving her, im just paranoid that i will come back and she would have pulled her stitches out. even tho she is leaving them alone. think is more me being paranoid really
