Kitten Care

Here are several tricks, tips, facts and advice perhaps you can apply for the betterment of your kitty care. Kitten care is significantly fundamental through out the life of the cat but more in it's earlier months as the kitten. The coaching along with the care of raising kittens you display, will be the foundation as an adult.

You can not, at any cost, substitute a cat's milk for the cow's milk to be given to newly-born. And by expressing that, you also need not take the kitties away from their mother cat for at least a month and a half if at all feasible. After vaccination, kittens should stay indoors no less than a week. And never jerk kittens, likewise as grown cats, at the back of their neck. The accurate time for weaning a bottle fed kitten is approximately three to four weeks after birthing. From milk, you would step by step change your kitties' dieting by adding solid foods on something liquid to dampen them up. A month after birth you may begin establishing canned nutrients to your kitten. It's better to chop up the kitten food thinly at first. And on their sixth week, you can render solid nutrients to your kitty.

Another way of kitten care is to play and interact with your pet. Kittens enjoy the play a lot. And because they do, as a trusted and caring pet owner you should be aware of the correct toys for your kitten. Inquire from your veterinarian which are the safe toys for you to buy. Most veterinarians will feature a guide for kitten care. Generally, the most effective toys to buy are the ones which are average sizings; large-scale enough to avoid swallowing as well small enough to avoid flapping around. And once you purchased these playthings, make a conscious effort to play with the toy with your kitty.

Extra kitty maintenance is the dental supervision. A majority of cats might have dental troubles. To shun away from that miserable position, you may begin choosing care of the teeth of your kitty when they're still small kitties. Just like a human toothache, cat's dental problems can be so painful and quite pricey. What you may to do to avoid this is to give your kitten dry solid food. Dry solid food cleanses kitten's teeth and makes their gums a great deal healthier. Different way to help to avoid this dilemma is to brush the teeth of the kitten. Amazingly, this is a undertaking that cat owners verify to be an easy task and is just a part of their kitten care.

The newborn kitten care recieved by the kitten will help to determine how well the adult social skills of that cat develops. Plus the best benifit of the kitten care is the bond that will grow with your kitty.

Kitten Illness?
My kitten is 5 weeks old. It vomited a few times and has since been breathing rapidly with a quick heartbeat. It is also purring very loudly. The cat, normly lively, now only sits and stares, but won't lie down. I've wrapped it up to keep it warm and am giving it water to keep it hydrated. I've tried calling the vet but they could only tell me to keep it hydrated. Has anyone else had experience of these symtoms and what did they mean? Help with my kittens illness?
I ahve been caring for a kitten I found when she was 2 days old. She is now 7 weeks old and has something wrong with her. She has lost alot of weight and is very "out of it." We have taken her to the vet and he gave us some nutrition cat food and told us to pump her full of fluilds like gatoraid and k-row (I know I spelled it way wrong). We also were told to giver her corn oil to help with bowel movement. However, through all of this the vet dosent know what my kitten has. Can anyone help? I dont want her to die. She was knocking on deaths door the day we took her to the vet. She has gained a little weight since weve been feeding her and filling her with fluids. What could she have? Please help!!!

What could be wrong with my 4 week old kitten?
My mother cat had a litter about 4 weeks ago, maybe 5. The littler was healthy. But the other day, we gave the kittens a bath. Two of them took it like you'd expect, fighting it and whining. But the normally healthy/peppy one, who's been kinda weak for a few days, just took it like a dead body, until near the end when he started to get fed up. I am suspecting he has a cold, from the bath. Because now that it's a day later, he's all weak and unhungry, and just looks down. But also, the entire litter has fleas. Their mother brings them in, and we normally kept them in the closet, so the entire closet has become a flea nest. D: Which we're going to take care of, but until then, we're keeping them in a cage. But anyway, I'm also thinking he's become weak from lack of blood, from the fleas. Because he was weak like this before the bath. Now he doesn't have the energy to push through his siblings, to get food from their mother. But just like, 10 minutes ago, my mother gave him baby formula. He ate like you'd expect a starving kitten to. So do you think he's just been weak from no blood, and as of late, no food? Or has a cold? Worms? Another common kitten illness? Now he's fast asleep on a blanket, like he's been all day. Also, the bath killed half of the fleas that were on their body, and in a week or so, we'll give them flea colors. You give your cat a bath if they have fleas coating them. It was a bath and save them from no blood, or let them die from blood loss. Also, I have no way to a vet, because my father HATES my cats. He's already walking more than he had been. My mother, who'd fed him, came in, and when she sat down, he ran to her and climbed up her leg, which earlier he had no energy for. I'm sorry, but I truly have no way to get my kittens to a vet. I'd love to, it's killing me seeing him look sad and sick. And I will not have my mother cat fixed until she has one more litter. This is her 2nd, and she's enjoying be a mother. I've had a cat fixed once, and she became horribly cruel and angry, and I regretted it. I don't want my cat to be like that. But yes, I will look into finding a healthy flea product. I had no clue that collars harmed them. And until my mother is willing to, he'll have to eat human formula. I have no reason to give any of the cats but the sickly one to a foster family. Which I will be doing for all the kittens when they're older, I've promised them to two wonderful/animal loving families. And the sickly one is the only sickly out of the family. The mother, and her full grown son, and the two other kittens are healthy and happy, and the kittens are so lively. He's the only sickly one. You didn't know the cat I'd had fixed. She was nice to me and my mother. But to anyone besides us, and all other cats, she was horribly mean, attacked them, was just in general hateful. And before it, she had been peppy and sweet, and loved our neighbors cats. But afterwards, became withdrawn and angry. And a friend of mine had a cat fixed, and she became overly fat and bored, whereas before, had been a healthy/lively cat. I just don't think she needs to be fixed yet. And my mother knows the two families well. They take such wonderful care of their other animals. I'm know they will die, but from what I can tell after meeting the families, they're delightful and loving. It's doubtful they'll die in their hands at young ages.

need help with kitten illnesses ?
my cat had 5 kittens, their nearly 6 weeks old and alrea`dy two have died. before they died they didnt eat and slept alot, and lost a lot of weight, one suffered from gammy eye, the other didnt. i think they both had diarrhoea a few days before they stopped eating and lost weight. but i only saw one time when they had diarrhoea, it seemed to stop before they stopped eating etc... i want to know if this is just fluke, or if it is genetic? can i do anything to stop it happening to the other kittens? we cant afford top take them to the vets to get them checked out... are they all doomed? Just to say that, this wasnt our cat before...it was a neighbours, but it decided to have its kittens at our house, and theyve pretty much left them with us, didnt give us any money to support them...so weve tried to raise them as well as possible, but my dad said that hes not going to pay to take them to a vet, so i was wondering if anyone on here knew about this and could give us some advic.
