how do you litter train a cat that doesn't like the feel of litter?
My 6 month old kitten doesn't like the way the litter feels I'm guessing. She hops out the box everytime i put her in it. My mom said we can't keep her in the house if she doesn't learn to use it. So any advice, tips, suggestions? I'd appreciate it.

Is it alright to lock your cat in the bathroom to toilet train him ?
My family have recently gotten a 7 month old cat (or kitten). And my parents say before we can let him run around in the house, we have toilet train him first. Okay but then i found out that one of the way to toilet train a cat is to lock him in the bathroom for 3-5 days, without letting him out (but give him food and water of course) to let him know that that is his toilet. This cat (or kitten) is quite energetic, so when my family goes to sleep, he is put in a cage and in the bathroom. So tonight is the second night but he is meowing a lot in the cage and even sounds like moaning, like he doesn't want to be there. But my parents said that this is necessary. When my family is asleep, i visited him and i started feeling bad. He was reaching his paw out from inside the cage and biting the cage. He also seems agitated. I really want a cat in my family. But it's just that i feel so bad for him right now. Is it right what my family is doing to this cat ? Is this the only way ? Or is there something wrong with the cat ?

Can you train a cat not to meow?
The owner of the cat is trying to make the cat not meow. The cat is a Siamese, so she meows very loud. I personally do not mind the meowing but the owners cannot stand it, they confine the cat to one room (it's their own room as well), because they do not want it scratching on the furniture. One of the owners basically said to me a couple of minutes ago that they were training the cat now to meow, and to not scratch on the door whenever it wants out, they don't let the cat out of their room that often because they believe that the cat is "playing" them, and that if they let the cat out the cat will know that she will get whatever she wants by meowing. Another question: Do cats really act/think like this? And, is it a problem that I let the cat out whenever they aren't home and I am? I personally do not think their room is a suitable living area for the cat, or any other living thing for that matter, because they smoke (cigarettes and marijuana) and also get drunk around the cat. Everyones' answer completely backs up my argument, but none actually answer any of the questions specified.
